TERMINAL SUPPORT TUG
This is twin Z-drive, diesel powered terminal support tug, designed for
maximum efficiency in the performance of ship-handling, and related terminal support activity services. The vessel will have excellent sea-keeping qualities including personnel comfort and good stability. The vessel shall have sufficient strength, stability and seaworthiness for safety offshore operation to perform offshore stand-by at sea up to 14 feet wave. The vessel and its superstructure shall be of all welded mild steel construction. Propulsion will be by twin (2) medium-speed marine diesel engines, each driving a conventional straight shaft with fixed pitched propeller in nozzle, through a reverse-reduction gearbox.
TRACTOR TUG
This type of tug pulls the barge, usually by means of a tether, quite often, this type of tug is used in ports to berth things like ocean liners and tankers, working in teams. The generally accepted meaning for the term "Tractor Tug" is a tug that would supply maneuvering and/or docking traction for vessels lacking that ability. Tractor tugs with Z-drive (or azimuth thruster) propulsion systems, were especially designed for tasks such as ship docking and marine construction. Conventional propeller/rudder configurations are more efficient for port-to-port towing.
This design is twin screw Utility Tug completely outfitted and equipped for maintenance, workboat and other related duties. The Vessel will be classed for Unrestricted Service.
